Introduction
Over a period of ten years, an extensive questionnaire compiled at Fuller Theological Seminary’s School of World Mission was filled out by some 600 Muslim-background believers (or those who knew them well). The results provided here are drawn from a representative sample of 120 of those surveys. The respondents are drawn from 39 countries and over 50 ethnic groups. They provide a broad window into the hearts and minds of those who have turned from Islam to Christ and why.
Why A Sure Salvation
It is an issue that touches on a longing concern for much of humanity. The question of one’s eternal destiny haunts many who long for the hope of heaven and the sure knowledge that they have been saved from the penalty of their sins. The Qur’an states that salvation belongs to “those that believe and do deeds of righteousness, those are the inhabitants of Paradise, there they shall dwell forever.” (1) Yet it also states that God forgives whom He wills and chastises whom He wills.
Why In Indonesia
One Indonesian woman was taught in her Islamic family that the bridge to heaven was as thin as a piece of hair. This tradition is found in the canonical collection of the activities and sayings of Muhammad (the hadith). Even good deeds, she was taught, would not assure her of crossing safely into Paradise. This hair-thin bridge was difficult and dangerous to cross. For her, a key factor in coming to faith in Christ was the realization that she could not save herself. Only the blood of Christ could redeem her.
Why Confidence in Salvation
A West African woman wanted to know for certain at the point of her conversion that her sins had been forgiven and washed away. When a Persian émigré to the United States was asked if Christ had given him freedom from fear, he said, “Oh yes, I feel forgiven, I have the assurance of forgiveness.” For these and others, what they have found in Christ is an eternal, secure refuge. An Egyptian man stated more broadly and unequivocally that the main attraction of Christianity for a Muslim is the assurance of salvation. A Javanese man said simply, “After I received Jesus, I had confidence concerning the end of my life.”
Why Center Piece is Jesus
According to the survey the center piece for Muslims was always the same. They have (whether one by one or family by family) been drawn to the God-man Jesus Christ. And for their spiritual direction, they have found one book that stands out above all others: the Bible. And more than any other portion of scripture, these believers are attracted to the Sermon on the Mount. One Javanese man who read the whole Bible echoes the thoughts of many about the Sermon on the Mount, saying, “If the life of a Christian is like that, I wanted to become a Christian.”

Dear Naz,
Just to enlighten you, not all who profess to be Christians are Christians per se. We have spiritual and carnal Christians. Those who indulge in extra marital, pre-martal sex or drunkenness are not spiritual Christians. Nonetheless, God is merciful and if one really repent, He will never reject you. Even church leaders are not all spiritual Christians. It is sad that due to carnal Christians, all Christians would be tarnished.
Hey everbody, as a Christian I am very happy that you people can discuss religions with an open mind. I hope that in near future when all of us is mature, we can discuss with open heart.
With regard to Jesus, we Christian belief that He is The Word of God. God’s Word is eternal, uncreated, that is why Jesus is eternal, uncreated. What is Eternal dan Ubcreated that is what we all call GOD. So for Christian, Jesus is God (John 1:1-18).
Islam doesn’t believe that. Islam believe Jesus as a holy prophet.
Christian also believe Jesus as a holy prophet. How? The Word of God became human and dwell among the Jews of Palestine. His name is Jesus. This we call INCARNATION. The Word of God became human temprorary to fulfill a mission to save human being. As a human being He (The Word of God/Jesus) is call a prophet (John 4:19) and apostle (Hebrew 3:1) and most inportantly as The Messiah (The Promise One that was to come as told by Moses and all the prophets).
That is why Christian call Jesus, God because He is the Word of God, Eternal and Uncreated and also a prophet and an apostle when He became human in order to save the human races from sin.
So Christian have a complete understanding of who Jesus compare to Islam who only believe Jesus as a mere prophet. This understanding is incomplete and I pray that my moslems brothers and sisters can open their heart to The Real Jesus.
Semoga Roh Allah memberi anda hidayat-Nya.
Amin.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life JOHN3:16
Thanks.
As qouted above – “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish..”
First of all in Islam we reject the notion of God being materliastic or having sons or daughters.
If God was having Son, then why only one ? Why is he limited to only one son ? If he was producing (God forbid) Cant he produce Millions of sons daily ???
God forbid / Astagfirullah.
Dear Nasaei Ahmad,
I understand your view but however I pray that May God enlighten your heart and reveal to you the mystery of the Gospel . But before i Sign up I want to give you the beautiful passages.
Salvation is found in no one else for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must save Act4:12
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life John3:16
If you have doubts please read again the Bible with your open heart and mind.
Thanks for your time.
Hi, Believer means Mumin (in Arabic) and Allah has promised Jannah / Salvations for believers means those who believe in unity of God, not Trinity.
Muslims respects Bible but do not read it, coz Bible has not remained the original word of God (like Quran), but it has been changed timely.
We should strive to read God’s words not Man’s words. There are thousands of Versions of Bible available world wide. In olden days bible was different in different language and today bible is different in different versions ———————– BUT QURAN IS ONE UNIVERSALLY — Even the language has not changed….. We do have translations of Quran but they are not called Quran.
Thats the reason Quran has upper hand over Bible.
Pls talk english
For Muslims, We do not believe in illusions & delusions, Islam teaches us to be practical. The problem in christians is one person starts believing in fabricated delusions of other, then he also allow his imagination to make for him another story of delusion then the third person questions himself if they can get delusions then why cant I ? then he also end up doing the same job of making stories based upon imaginations and dreams.
my dear brother Ahmad, thanks for your well atticulated and lenghty aguement against the christian faith and how wrong the bible is, and the quran sound and correct.well, may i remind you of one thing, let me tell you and to the whole world to know this, even if christianity is not the true way to heaven,i will advice you, and all to live your life and die as a christian.it the best life ever to have.please try and test it. Jesus is Sweet to the heart.praise GOD.
There is no salvation under the muslim flag. Come to the Lord and He will teach you about any misunderstaning. Surrender to the Lord 100 % , and after that you will be persecuted by your family for preaching the Lord. One thing is to know about a rose, and other is to explore its perfume.May the Lord open your heart toward Him.
