Arafat Day – all Christians please pray

Map of Saudi Arabia

Arafat Day is an important occasion during the month of Dhu’l-Hijjah or Hajj

The 9th day of the month of Dhu’l-Hijjah marks a significant day for Muslims, yet it is a day not so well known or talked about in the rest of the world. The day is called the Day of Arafat.

Arafat Day and it’s Significance

Hajj Arafat Day (Click to enlarge)

On the first day of the Hajj Pilgrimage, Muslims sweep out of Mecca toward Mina, a small uninhabited village east of the city. As their throngs spread through Mina, the pilgrims generally spend their time meditating and praying, as the Prophet did on his pilgrimage. During the second day, the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah, pilgrims leave Mina for the plain of Arafat. The Prophet is reported to have asked Allah to pardon the sins of pilgrims who stood at Arafat, and was granted his wish. Thus, the hopeful pilgrims prepare to leave this plain joyfully, feeling reborn without sin and intending to turn over a new leaf.

Just after sunset, the mass of pilgrims proceed to Muzdalifah, an open plain halfway between Arafat and Mina. There they first pray and then collect pebbles to use on the following days. The next day begins the Eid holiday or Eid al-Adha, the festival of sacrifice.

Why Arafat Day?

The Day of Arafat is the only day when Muslims gather together at Arafat Mountain in an act of unity to pray and fast for their religion and to offer sacrifices as they remember that Abraham offered Ishmael, not Isaac. It is called the Day of Repentance. It was from this site that Muhammad gave his famous Farewell Sermon in his final year of life.

The Day of Arafat is doubtless the most unified day of any Muslim event. Imagine Muslims gathered together at Arafat Mountain in unity, praying and fasting and stoning the devil whom they say tried to stop their father Abraham from offering Ishmael and offer Isaac instead. You see, Muslims declare that Ishmael is the son of the promise, not Isaac. Muslims offer sacrifices in remembrance that Abraham offered Ishmael as a sacrifice for sins, not Isaac! (Those who complete the Hajj are told all the sins before the journey are forgiven.)

Arafat Day comes 70 days after the start of Ramadan each year.

In 2009 Arafat day will be Thursday 26th November.
In 2010 Arafat day will be Monday 15th November.
In 2011 Arafat day will be Saturday 5th November.

Prayer guide for Arafat Day:

1- Pray and fast through the day that the Holy Spirit will break spiritual deceiving and blindness over the eyes of the Muslims, declaring Isaac as the seed, not Ishmael.

2 – Gather as many groups as possible – either three to five believers or, in small meetings or overnight prayer events to offer the True God our sacrifices of praise.

3- Declare that the True God is known only through Jesus Christ the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, not Ishmael, according to the Scriptures. Pray for truth to be revealed, that is, the truth of the real promise through Isaac in Jesus Christ to be known. Pray for Muslims to become the sons of Abraham and to know their rights to the promises which were through Isaac.

  2. Eidnun says:

thanks for providing this information may allah bless you

  3. Khalid Almekseeki says:

I find your prayer #1 incorrect. Neither are Muslims being deceived nor blinded by anyone. The Qur’an is clear on this and in fact makes a few references into the faults of the Gospels. This is why the Qur’an was revealed to the prophet Muhammad (saw) and through him to all mankind.

4:171 O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God’s Apostle – [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary – and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, “[God is] a trinity”. Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God.

All you have to do is read a few Qur’anic passages to realize that we don’t make that same comparison you do on your prayer #3 amongst Allah’s prophets:

3:84 Say: “We believe in God, and in that which has been bestowed from on high upon us, and that which has been bestowed upon Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and their descendants, and that which has been vouchsafed by their Sustainer unto Moses and Jesus and all the [other] prophets: we make no distinction between any of them. [68] And unto Him do we surrender ourselves.”

Please, take some time off your busy life and read the Qur’an for yourself. You can pick one up for FREE at any Islamic center in the USA or you can gain access for free from the following website:

  4. Warner says:

All Praise is for God Alone.

Truly Jesus’s (peace be upon him) birth was a miracle. Hence you worship him because you believe that he is the only begotten son of god due to his miraculous birth….But wait, Adam was created without a mother, even more miraculous!

Listen to what the Quran sais:
“The similitude of Jesus before God is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: “Be”. And he was.”(Qur’an 3:59)

Yet Adam is not worshipped? Surely Adam has more right than Jesus to be considered the son of god.

Listen to your own scripture, the first 4commandments do not mention Jesus/Holy Spirit, they only mention god alone. If the trinity was so important it would be in the 10 commandments:

    Exodus 20:2–17
    2 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;

3 you shall have no other gods before me.

4 You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me.

If you follow the trinity know that you follow the Council of Nicaea. This is 300 years after Jesus was raised up. The council convened to “canonise” certain codexes (scriptures) and to formalise the christian doctrine.

Up until this council Jesus was not worshipped as a God. Look for yourself at the “Nicean Creed” wiki/Nicene_Creed
    wiki/First_Council_of_Nicaea

This second most prolific author of the bible is Paul yet he was not an apostle nor did he even see Jesus. Yet you follow this man.

Finally a quote from the Quran:

And to warn those (Christians, and pagans) who say, “God has begotten a son (or offspring or children).”No knowledge have they of such a thing, nor had their fathers. Mighty is the word that comes out of their mouths [i.e. He begot (took) sons and daughters]. They utter nothing but a lie.[18:4-5]

  5. Abdul says:

You must be one of those ignorants about Islam and Muslims, try to check your sources for right quote “Muslims offer sacrifices in remembrance that Abraham offered Ishmael as a sacrifice for their sins! (Those who complete the Hajj are told all the sins before the journey are forgiven.)” everyone get reward for thier deeds, forgiven of sins is quaranteed by almighty Allah regardless of sacrifiction.

  6. Omer says:

I feel sorry for these thousands of Muslims gathering every year in extension of old paganism of Arabia, we all know that the Arabs use to do all that before Mohamed and worship there gods and what Mohamed did is he unified all these gods in one god Allah.. I know Muslims claim that Abraham “Ibraheem” was doing what Muslims practicing today but the Pagan Arabs add to it the Idols and Mohamed removed them all and return it to the early days of Abraham…and this is not correct Abraham never been to makka according to the Bible but sounds like another Abraham.
The worst part of this all are those non-Arab Muslims who kiss the sand and stones on that mountain believing that Mohamed walked on some of them others touch and kiss the black stone just as the Pagan Arabs use to do.
I will pray for these poor lost in the Darkness that they may see Jesus.

  7. Omer (X Muslim from Yemen) You need to read your Bible. Abraham did in fact go to Mecca. But at that time it was called Paran. You need to get you facts straight. If you knew your religion (Islam) before you left you would have never left. All I can say is one thing. Yusuf Estes. He is an Ex Christian Minister. His websites. IslamAlways.com, IslamTomorrow.com, IslamYesterday.com. See what he says about Islam and Christianity. You will be surprised. This is someone that has studied the bible all his life and now the Quran. I really fee sorry for you.

  8. Eliza Li says:

I think the word says,”If you know the Truth, the Truth will set you free.” May the Truth show to all the people on the earth, which God loves so much that he sent His only son to us.
Pray during this Haji and also Christmas season that people who seek the Truth will fine it and be found.

  9. Abdulganiyu says:

No knowledge at all is better than half knowledge bcos it leads destruction and causes problem.
I believe you can still do more research so as to know more about religions Islam in particular.
“Allahu Alam” Almighty Allah knows best.

  10. OLATUNDE OLAWOYIN says:

let me start by saying ‘ye shall seek knowledge and it shall set you free’.
God Almighty unlike us his creatures He never make mistake. With all sincererity There is nothing like Christianity, and anybody that feel like challenging me should read act of Apostle in Bible so that they can understand how Christianity came into being!!!
The only Religion in God presence is Islam and that is why From Abrahm to Jacob to Jesus(ASW) to Muhammed(SAW) they are all Muslims. It might surprise you ‘ but instead take sometimes out and ask yourself; what if God has a son, who will that be?, did God waited for 13 years after Ismeal was born before Isacc was born to demand Abrahm to fufil his promise that if God give him a son,He will sacrifice him for God ‘A son’ ?. Those people who wrote Bible were they the real eye witness to the Jesus(ASW) when He was on this Planet?, who is Paul’ the founder of Christianity’ ?, and finally what cause the big fight that broke out between Paul and Barnabah(read act of Apostle and religion history)., It is only if you can do this that u will discover who are you inrespect of religion.
Today the only thing most of ignorants attach to Islam is extremeism. But i am not surprise cause it has been predicted that during the end time; HUMAN BEINGS WILL BE IN PLANE ERROR AND THE ONLY THING THAT WILL BE FASHIONABLE IS ANYTHING THAT AGAINST THE BELIEVER OF TRUTH. THE REMAINING PEOPLE OF FAITH WILL BE SUBJECTED TO ISOLATION, NAME CALLING,AND WAR WILL BE WAGE AGAINST ISLAM BUT IN THE END ISLAM WILL OVER-COME AND THOSE WHO FOLLOW DECIETS WILL SURELY END IN BURNING FLAME.
so i see no reason why the west should adultrate Muslims land with their own way of living. However Muslims from accross the world should be very careful not to be tempted to follow the ways of the wrong doers.
THOSE MUSLIM THAT KILLS THEIR FELLOW MUSLIMS SHOULD GO BACK TO WHAT PROPHET SAYS (SAW) AND STOP THIS ACT OF SINS AGAINST MUSLIM AND NONE MUSLIM… LEAVE REVENGE FOR ALLAH SURELY HE ENOUGH IN GUIDING AND PROTECTING THE UMAH.
TO MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN HAJJ ( MAY ALLAH ACCEPT IT AS AN ACT OF IBBADAH) AND TO NONE MUSLIM MAY ALLAH REMOVE THE BARRIER IN YOUR EYES AND MAKE THEM SEE THE FLOOD OF LIGHT IN ISLAM….AMEEN.

  11. Abdulrazaq Magaji says:

Ignorance regarding who was to be sacrificed by Abraham persists even as I keep hearing, either out of sheer ignorance or outright miscvhief that Isaac was that son of Abraham. The question is: At what point in time was the convenant between God and Abraham sealed? It was just before the birth of Ishmael, the first son of Abraham.Note that Isaac came thirteen clear years before Isaac. This is confirmed by the Bible. So why the crass ignorance on the part of our brothers?Mind you, the Bible is very clear regarding which of God”s promise went to who.The Bible is clear about what God said about Ishmael and also very clear regarding waht God said of Isaac.Where lies the confusion? The saying that salvation is your own standards does not cut ice.Know God first, NOT HIS CREATURE,then you learn to worship Him.Reminders: Why do you call me good?NONE is good except God in heaven..>>>>> Of that day knoweth no man, no, NOT even the son.

  13. Seekers of Knowledge says:

AsSalam Walikum (Peace be with you)

    Quick points:
-There’s no trinity mention in the bible
-It’s all made up by Saint Paul (who came after several hundred years later. Who and whose fathers have not seen Jesus(pbuh))
-Its confusing when they say, “father, son and holy spirit,” (are these suppose to be three gods or are they suppose to worship One God )
-This is how it’s mention in the Torah Commandment number 1… “I am the Lord your God”

May the One and Only God who stands alone guide everyone to the Righteous Path.
All praises be to the All-Mighty Lord Allah
May the light and knowledge be showered upon everyone.

    -Allah Hafiz

    • TDI says:

That is certainly an opinion Allah Hafiz. I agree it is difficult to understand much of what is said of the bible. I have another idea, please ask the author if He exists or not. I guarantee all honest questions will be answered!

  14. nataUkraiinka says:

To ‘Seekers of Knowledge’, The God of the Bible is one God but in 3 different forms. One God in Heaven the one that created the whole universe, And when people weren’t living right, God was waiting patiently, and then He sent His only Son, which is God but in person, and the Son Jesus Christ was born to a virgin Mary and Jesus did His ministry on this earth and some people chose to believe in Him but some didn’t. Just like I heard this story this guy was plowing his fields, and when he saw this big group of ants in front of him he taught to himself how can I tell them to move so that they wouldn’t get run over, but no matter how much he would scream they would not here him. So he would have to become an ant in order to tell them of the danger ahead and believe him. So that’s what God did, He was always there but people weren’t all believers, and back then in The Old Testament times people had to give sacrifice for every sin they did, and that kind of became hard because people are naturally sinners unless they’re born of God. So In the New Testament Jesus reveals to His creation and tells about Heaven and the truth so that no one would die but live for ever with Him. Then because people rejected Him, they put Him on the cross And the last thing He said was “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.” I was the one supposed to be nailed to the cross, I was the one to die for my sins, but God took all of everybody’s sins on the cross. Thank you God. God is not a God of mystery He wants us to know Him and admire Him more and more through His Word and fellowship with Him,,, That’s why after He rose from the grave He went to Heaven and know He said He won’t leave us alone but will send the Counselor to be with us the Holy Spirit, and that lives in our hearts and testifys that we are His children,,, He loves you to and He waits for you to turn to Him and believe in Him, because He will soon come back and take His faithful…
