Why don’t Christians respond? Cool that Muslims leave so many comments, but where is the Christian response? This is a Christian site, or? People like Nazneen are offering good insight into Islam, or Banu on the “About Islam” site, but where are the answers from the Word of God? Christians, please respond more and offer the witness you are asked to be!
Let me try to humbly explain why we as followers of Jesus Christ pray for you Muslims who seek to submit to God. It is true that Muslims and Christians honor similar virtues and decry much of the godlessness present in this world (such as homosexuality or the mistreatment of those such as women). There is much ground that we share as we believe in one ultimate God who made everything, decides how we should live and has revealed himself. However we differ on how what he revealed and on how we will be spared eternal judgment for our wrong-doing. We Christians believe that God himself came to earth and lived as a human [beware of limiting God's abilities or the complexities of his nature] and himself suffered for us, dying a most horrifying death (in our place) and then came back to life (ensuring that we could have life beyond death). (See 1 Corinthians 15:1-11). We believe that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) and “the penalty of sin is death” (Romans 6:23) . Absolutely no one can be cleared of their wrongs by their own efforts (i.e. we’re all too messed up to save ourselves by doing good things). Sadly most people are either unaware of this or too proud too recognize their faults and truly submit to God and receive His true, amazing mercy (undeserved!!). This God offers to anyone who believes that Jesus is God, took on human life, lived a sinless life (see Surah 19.19), died for us and so provided us new life, clearing us of condemnation that we deserved. (See John 3:13-19). So we pray for Muslims, as well as others who may seek or not seek God, that your eyes may be opened to see God as he truly is, and that your hearts may be humbled to accept him, so that you might know and receive his incredible mercy and worship him truly that he may be more greatly honored.
