According to statistics from the U.N., Islam is now the worlds second largest religion after Christianity. The U.N. statistics state that the Islam annual growth rate of Islam is around 6.40% compared to 1.46% during the same time period for Christianity. Also according to these statistics, one in five people on the planet are Muslim (by birth or geographical reference).

Islam in Africa since 1989 increased 2.15%
Islam in Asia since 1989 increased 12.57%
Islam in Europe since 1989 increased 142.35%
Islam in Latin America since 1989 decreased -4.73%
and Islam in Australia and Oceania / Pacific since 1989 increased 257.01%

Thank you for your information. Personally, i would like to look at the U.N. statistics myself but cannot find them online. If you are using U.N. statistics, i think that it would be helpful---and make you appear to be more credible---if you provide a link to them.

Did you know that Christianity is the fastest growing faith? its slightly declining in percentage because of lowerb brithrates compared to islam, but its growing faster by conversions!

Remember Muslims did not destroy Maya and Inca people. Muslims did not start crusades wars. Muslims did not encourage Mongols to kill all people in Baghdad (except Christians of course!!). Muslims did not pray for the most violent act in the human history (using Nuke on the Hiroshima).... All these were done by the Religion of Love : Christianity.
I don't hate Christians or Christianity. I'm sorry for them and for myself as a human!
The day Islam will become the dominant faith on the planet is the day when world peace will prevail.
I doubt that the Islamic religion becoming the largest in the world would result in peace. If we look at many of the Islamic countries in the world, we see that they are also where huge amounts of both juvilanty and government fighting is occurring. The islamic religion has not brought peace to these countries, but rather war, just as it would as the dominant faith in the world.
as for your knowledge,not a single muslim country is following islam............not even saudi arab..only a part of a shariah law is there i.e criminal law...and u can see the results there,it has a very low crime rate as compared to the other countries of the world
