Nashik, (also Nasik), is a medium size, fast-growing city. The river Godavari flows through the city and the temples and steps on its banks make Nashik one of the holiest places for Hindus all over the World. Once every 12 years the city hosts millions of Hindus participating in the pilgrimage festival called Kumbh Mela (the Urn Festival). In Hindu mythology, Nasik got its name when the sister of the demon Ravana proposed to marry the god Rama. Hearing this, Rama ordered her nose (‘nasika’ in Sanskrit) to be cut off. Thus Nashik got its name. This is the context in which Muslims in Nashik live – surrounded by ancient Hindu tradition and culture.
Power to Heal the Sick
It was not until the establishment of regional Muslim kingdoms in the 14th and 15th centuries and the arrival of Muslim missionaries that the Muslims began to form a distinct community. The two leading Muslim missionaries in Nashik were Khunmir Hussaini (1520) and Syed Hussaini (1568). It is believed that both came with zealous preaching and the power to heal the sick, thus many Hindus readily converted to Islam. Devotion to these Muslim saints continues to this day.
The vast majority of Muslims in Nashik (as in all of India) are Sunnis who have been influenced over the generations by Hindu religion and culture. Some of the Muslims peoples residing in Nashik district are the Sayyed, the Pathan, the Malik, Muslims from Rajasthan, the Lakarharas (or wood-sellers who are a mixed population of Shaikhs), and a Shia sect called the Dawoodi Bohra. The majority of Muslims in the city are from the Sayyed group.
The Plight of the Muslims
A simple visit to Nashik city will easily demonstrate the plight of the Muslims living there. Many live in congested areas where the city infrastructure is of poor quality. When we wrote this article (summer 2006), there were no known ministries daily reaching out to Nashik's Muslims with the Gospel. However, this does not mean God is not at work among them.
Many genuine believers in Nashik have been praying for the Muslim community. Some are fearful of Muslims as well, caught up in the historical Indian prejudices between the varying religious communities. Another area for prayer is Malegaon, a city in Nashik district a few hours drive north east of Nashik city which is over 70% Muslim, far exceeding the Muslim population of Nashik city. Malegoan has a reputation for its communal tensions between the religious communities and the more volatile Muslim population.

Dear Dr. Zakir Naik
I always have a question in mind and I also asked this question to your website but, I did not get any response. I do not know whether you are hiding yourself from this question or you really do not know.
Every muslim offer his namaz (prayer) towards Kibla and I heard from you that it is because by doing so every muslim on this earth has same center i.e. Kibla.
Now, my question is "Is it possible to make direction towards Kibla from every part of this earth, if earth is round ?"
The direction will be towards sky (radial to earth) from a distant location (from Kibla).
If Muhammad was the messenger of God then how can he make such mistake by giving his idea to offer namaz towards Kibla. And he is messenger of ALLAH it means ALLAH did not know that earth is round ? So, How can you call Him ALLAH (The God) because a God can not do such silly mistakes.
Please answer briefly and precisely.

You are talking the tongue of Dr. Zakir who explained Vedas and Purana as he likes. I feel laugh on him when he says like this.
Hinduism also says GOD is one no one else. You need to reed "Adwait" philosophy that means God is one not many. Ram, Krishna etc are human form of Almighty God. Vishnu, Shiva and Brhama belong to God. That God is known by many names, like Allah, God.
If you go through Vedas, Puranas and Gita you will find nothing as Dr Zakir says. You refered Kalki Purana thenI would like to tell you its clearly mentioned there that a person will come in a Brahmin family of desert. And, Dr Zakir explained it as Muhammad. Was Muhammad a Brahmin ?? He needs to read more.

Kaba is the kibla for Muslims. Muslims prayer directions e.g. Line in True Horizon toward Kaba cuts the line of Zenith of Kaba. But if u pray in other direction, the line in ur True Horizon never cut the Line of Kaba and its Zenith. There is mere possibility of cutting the line of Kaba and Nadir.

I know the earth is OVAL, its my fault that I wrote ROUND. Still you did not give my answer. The same case is applicable if earth is OVAL even. Still the direction can not be towards the Kibla.
You give your answer do not count the mistakes of elsewhere. It does not justify your answer. If I will get knowledge of ISLAM still this question will be in my mind. Because its scientifically blunder.
Well Muslims pray facing towards the Qiblah to maintain a discipline. It is not that we idolize the Qiblah it is just to maintain a discipline that all muslims pray in one direction. It has nothing to do with the fact that the earth is OVAL. I hope this solves your query.

I did not say that Muslim idolize Qiblah and earth is oval or round. every body knows that earth is oval there is no dispute on it. But, still how can you say that all Muslim pray in "ONE DIRECTION" ? Every single Muslim on this earth has its own direction when he prays and his direction can not be towards Qiblah. Therefore, no discipline is maintained. And if ALLAH or Prophet said that then it say enough itself about Islam.

Q: What is the Kaaba?
A: The Kaaba is the first house built for the worship of God. It is in Mekkah. The Kaabah is used as a focal point for prayer only, to unify the muslims in prayer. Not as an object of worship.
It is better that before you start your prayers, the direction of the Qiblah be verified. All the mosques all around the world have the direction marked. Most of the muslims also carry a direction compass so that they can approximately determine the direction of the Qiblah. Like if you are east of the Qiblah you pray facing towards the west and if you are towards the west of the Qiblah you pray facing the east.
If you are thinking that we measure the correct longitude and latitude then start our prayers then it is not the point. You should just know which direction as in east, west, north or south where is the Qiblah from where you stand and you can start praying in the same direction. If the direction cannot be determined, then you can just make your intention for prayer and pray. An important part of Islam is Niyaat or Intention. It is seen how pure is your heart when you are praying and how devoted you are towards ALLAH swt.
Moreover, if you wish to understand the concept you will if you don't wish to understand the concept then no one can help you except ALLAH swt.

You are not getting my point. You are explaining Islam again and again which is not my interest. I asked a scientific question. Can you face yourself towards Kiblaa from a particular point of Earth ???
Broadly, you can say East, West, North or South. But, you can not focus yourself towards a particular point on Earth. It would be towards sky (radial to earth) and every muslim will has its own direction. So, how can you say it as a unity ???
For example:
You take a ball or better take a egg and mark a point on it and suppose this point is Kiblaa and take another point opposite to that point on another side of the egg. then what would be your direction from 2nd point to 1st ??? It would be through the egg

As per Rig Veda ALLA is a sanskrit word and it means AMBE or AMBICA or JAGDAMBICA or BHAWANI. All of these words have smae meaning which means CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE.
As per arabic language grammer if a name ends with letter A then it is considered as a female name like AISHA, NAFISHA, KHADIJA, MARWA etc.
Mohammed was from Quarash tribe and all the arabic and non arabic historians agree that Quarash tribes were believers of ALLA (AMBA, AMBICA, BHAWANI). The ALLA word was existing even before Mohammed this is why Mohammed's father's name was ABDALL = ABD + ALLA.
ABD means slave in arabic language. So, ABDALLA menas slave or servant of ALL, or servant of AMBICA , or servant of JAGDAMBICA, or servant of BHAVANI. This is why Mohammed selected ALLA as their GOD.
But these today's muslims have forgotten their root and now they are guided by fundamentalists and terrorists. Thus, ISLAM has become the religion of terrorists.
But actually ISLAM is a subbranch of HINDUISM and it was existing even before Mohammed's birth. This thing is clearly written in Quaran.

If u traveling on train or bus or airplane, u start ur prayer from the direction of qibla (kaba) and during ur journey ur face turn to any direction, then there is no harm, still ur prayer is valid.
one simple question to u, when i ask u where is East direction from India, u point towards the point of rising sun and not below on the ground.
