Recently a friend asked for an Interview for his national newspaper. We decided to publish the Questions and Answers here:
How Did 30-Days Get Started?
Imagine a prayer meeting with just a handful of people. Imagine the same prayer meeting some years later which drew millions of people to pray for the Muslim world. 30-Days of Prayer for the Muslim World is this prayer meeting!
The origin of this call to prayer and fasting for the Muslim world came about as a group of Christian leaders were praying about the Islamic world during a meeting in the Middle East in April 1992. God put a burden on the hearts of these men and women to call as many Christians as possible to pray for the Muslim world.
How Big is the Prayer Project, How Many People Or Countries Are Involved?
Today this event draws Christians worldwide to a united, global prayer meeting. The 30-Days of Prayer for the Muslim World prayer guide is produced in many languages each Ramadan and distributed from regional offices around the world. Millions of Christians have joined together in prayer, across denominations, languages and cultures to pray for the Muslim world since we began. As a result, a wave of mission mobilisation and Muslim mission awareness is occurring across the globe.
Why Ramadan?
This prayer event is planned to coincide with the Islamic month of Ramadan so that we, the Body of Christ, would get God’s heart for the Muslim world.
Ramadan is a great way to “pin” a prayer movement on something Christians can understand and relate to (literally a calendar month called Ramadan). When Christians hear in the media that Ramadan is coming, it reminds them to pray.
We have seen that Christians take the prayer more seriously as they see their Muslim neighbors fasting and active during Ramadan. Spiritually Christians can relate to Muslims better and pray and fast for the Muslim world because they are praying during Ramadan. Ramadan also gives Christians a good opportunity to make friends with Muslim neighbors.

What Is 30-Days About? What Is The Purpose Of The Project?
Our purpose is to call Christians to pray for the Muslim world, specifically:
- for greater breakthroughs for the Gospel among Muslims,
- an increased commitment to prayer by Christians,
- and for more missionaries to be released to work among Muslims.
We do this by creating a 52 page Prayer Guide coinciding with Ramadan each year (first edition was 1993).
Below: Various Prayer Guide Front Covers (view all our covers on the Facebook page, just click the Timeline…)

How Do You Create The Prayer Guide?
Each year people work together to provide new information, statistics, stories and photographs for the 30-Days Muslim World Prayer Guide. Most of those who contribute are field workers currently working in unreached regions. Each person contributes a unique insight into the needs of the Muslim people they live and work among. They are certainly not scholars who have a distant understanding of Muslims, but rather a group of people who have a passionate love for those they serve.
The 30-Days International team is then responsible to put together the text, graphics, layout etc. and that in turn is released to the national teams to translate and print and distribute how ever they can.
(PS. While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of each article, minor errors, usually spelling and grammar, often slip through even the most ardent of proof-readers. We appreciate your grace and forgiveness.)
What Is The Purpose of the Prayer Guide?
The purpose of this prayer guide is not to be comprehensive, but to motivate and inspire the reader to pray. Each article of the prayer guide contains enough content to provide a brief overview and up-to-date information. We strongly encourage our readers to seek further information in addition to this prayer guide. There are many excellent resources available, some of which are listed on our Links page.
Do You Have Stories About Muslims Saved During Ramadan?
MANY! We have many many testimonies, especially from our national offices. Often we hear of Muslims having had dreams of Jesus during Ramadan right after we have prayed for that country or people group. And, we have seen completely unreached people groups who now have Christians among them. Example: Brother Andrew of Open Doors Netherlands said publicly he believes this prayer ministry has opened doors to the Gospel where he travels.
Another wonderful testimony is that many Christian people contact us saying their hearts have been changed (positively) towards Muslims. Sometimes that leads to folk going on a missions trip, others reach out to their Muslim neighbors, still others commit to prayer.
(Each year in our Prayer Guide we print some special testimonies we receive.) But yes, a huge yes, that is one reason we keep doing this, the testimonies we receive encourage us that God is using this and answering the prayers of many. (See also the Testimonies section of our web-site.)
Is A Prayer Project Like This Dangerous For The People Creating It? Any Threats?
Yes, we have had threats and of course our people in Muslim countries have to be careful. Never-the-less, over the years we hear more and more that Muslims have come to respect what we do. They may not agree, but they respect our motto, “Loving Muslims Through Prayer.” Muslims have not found anything but love and respect for them, although they don’t want prayer to be saved by Jesus. Of course if a Muslim cleric somewhere gets upset with us, then problems can occur and have.
How Can People Take Action?
Our passion is to know God and to make Him known. Our focus is on praying for the unreached Muslim people groups. Our work is creating resources for Christians to pray.
Although 30-Days International is not a sending organization (we just create prayer resources), all of us behind this work are actively involved in mission somewhere in the world. As missionaries, we encourage you to pray and give. But also consider going! There is no greater joy then to bring the Gospel to lost and to help the poor and needy as well.
Will you pray? Will you promote 30-days? Will you change the world – God’s way?
Welcome to 30-Days of Prayer. Love Muslims Through Prayer
• The Muslim world is a challenge to Christians–especially since 9/11. We will not impact Muslims through our theological arguments or political manipulation, but we will through prayer. The annual 30 Day prayer emphasis that coincides with the Muslim month of Ramadan has been a remarkable global effort to focus millions of Christians on prayer for the spiritual needs of Muslims. Is it surprising, then, that during the many years of the 30 Days Muslim Prayer Focus there has been a corresponding rise in the number of Muslims turning to Christ? May God call many more as intercessor-priests (Rev 5-8) to change our world and extend His Kingdom!

Very good, but who’s prayer is accepted by GOD? if you do adultry dont pray! if you have sex with girlfreind out of mariage you dont have to! if you eat swine and intrest or bribe dont wory about it! If you use drugs or drink alcohol forget about it! if you do gambling or like to gosip, backbiting or cheat somebody or tel leis dont waste your time! if you go to the satan house (night clabs) and dance with music, and the next day go to the house of GOD! (?!?!?!) and pray with music think again! The only prayer accepted by the ALMIGHTY GOD is the prayer of the prophets of GOD. Mathew 26:39 jesus fell his face to the ground! Jashua 5:14 jashua fell his face to the ground! Numbers 20:6 moses and Aaron fell their faces to the ground! 1kings 18:42 elijah fell his face to the ground! Genesis 17:3 Abraham fell his face to the ground… Some people dont know the deference bitween to pray and to suplicate!
In addition, staff from many of our mission affiliates host short-term outreach teams made up of individuals, youth groups, families and churches who get to participate first-hand in “making God known” through both words and actions.
Why do you think you need to go to Muslims to do this? Muslims already know about God. They don’t say God is not great, they say God is the Greatest.
God guides you not Jesus. How can Jesus guide you if he is no longer on the planet but in heaven? Jesus is the Son Of Mary and Prophet or Messenger of God he is NOT God, he can’t be God because he prayed to God and he was born. God always existed and always will so how can Jesus who at one time did not exist be God who has no beginning or no end.
God is the greatest, Jesus is a great man and messenger of God.
Jesus NEVER Preached “worship me I am God” he preached to worship God.
Dear Dude,
I see that your understanding is more comprehensive than any other Christian fellow. In that you seem to believe in the Oneness of the God and I sincerely wish you will be guided further.
It is our fundamental understanding that the God is only One who is to be worshiped and praised. He is the Great and there is no one greater than Him. He is the most Merciful Who throughout our history from the First day of our Creation to the Last day of His Judgement has sent many prophets and messengers, from Adam, Noah, David, Solomon, Abraham, Lot to Moses, Jesus and the last of them Muhammad peace and blessing be upon them all. He the God Almighty has sent them to guide people to the truth and the right path.
Hello all, I wonder what the real purpose of this ministry is. A muslim love and respect Jesus (peace be upon him) without which he don’t even really become a muslim. Instead of doing all these things like setting up a ministry nn 30 days prayer, why don’t you people go study the Bible(both Old n New testament) nn the Quran and see what it really says? Can somebody come up with a SINGLE unambiguous or non-conflicting verse in the Bible where Jesus says that he is God nn worship him?? Whereas you can see plenty of verses in Bible in which Jesus tells you to worship God almighty, his lord nn ur lord. But still people believe only those things which they prefer to believe. They tend to listen to what the Church says and what Paul has preached rather than to Jesus himself. This is preposterous. Do a christian really adhere to the 10 commandments? Its evident that God has sent down many messengers to various communities from time to time to provide them guidance and the children of Israel was blessed by sending Jesus to guide them, but they received him not. With time, when the teachings are corrupted, God sent a final messenger, this time to the entire mankind and he revealed Quran as the blessing and guidance for the entire mankind and he himself vowed to protect it till the judgement day. Cant u people see that Quran is being protected miraculously without even a minor corruption for more than 1400 years now. Open your eyes people, study the scriptures. If you close your eyes towards the light only u ll experience the darkness nn not others. I urge all my muslim brothers and sisters to work towards “acquiring knowledge” as it is the second obligation after having Iman nn by that way I am sure that these people wouldn’t get even a single muslim to be led astray nn also we could provide guidance to those who r honest to themselves and care about the truth that there definitely is gonna be a judgement day in which nobody would intercede for him in God’s court. Peace.
I wanted to share a website with you all, that explains the truth about Jesus.

Jesus will return.

I am intrigued… as a Christian, and as Saleej asks, I also ask “what the purpose of this is?” It seems very naïve, and irreverent, to suggest one’s belief is superior over the others. Of course, we should hold our beliefs we integrity and without compromise. But to pray the other would become like us, and hold our belief (that is absolutely true, and that the other’s is absolutely false) seems very arrogant, and lacking in the fruits of beauty, joy and peace. Only will there be true peace, when we discover true peace among our different faiths. Let us, as Christians and Muslims, accept the integrity of the other’s belief with deep respect, a respect we can relate to in (as we believe) our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and for Muslims the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). How are we ever going to understand the other if we desperately want them to be like us, and share our belief? How are we ever going to realise that – what if – there’s a lot we share, and can unite on. I’m not advocating we forget our differences, and the different theological concepts that give us unique identities, but I’m praying we’d truly accept, learn and love each other.
Let us all pray for 30 days during Ramadan, not to remind us of the need to convert our brothers and sister, but as a time to repent at our failure to love our brothers and sisters who share a different faith, a time to acknowledge they are beautifully and preciously made by God almighty, and a time to grow in understanding of the divine, Allah, Lord or whatever it might be you hold up as your everything in life.
Thank you, brother. While I do find it obnoxious that this Christian fundamentalist would so arrogantly pray for Muslims to convert to Christianity during Ramadan, I like your comment. God bless you.
JESUS AKHBAR? That makes no sense.
Alla hu Akbar means God is the Greatest so the Akbar part means The Greatest
John 14:28 Jesus saying
{14:28} Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go
away, and come [again] unto you. If ye loved me, ye would
rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is
greater than I.
Jesus is saying God is Greater then him self so Jesus Can’t Be The greatest if God is Greater them him.
The enemy will never say that Jesus is God manifest in the flesh.
The Bible warns us 1 John 4:1 “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” NIV + 1 John 4:2-3 2 | John 1:1-3,14 | Phil 2:5-11
There are plenty of scriptures in which the Bible stands alone. No other doctrines are used in conjunction with it.
Isaiah 9:6 it states For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
That child was born and his name is Jesus, Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Jesus is still alive. See this is what faith is about. Can you believe in your heart what your natural eyes cannot see, what you natural ears cannot hear, what you cannot feel, and so on? The answer is NO.
It is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). You call him Father yet claim he has no son. You call him God (Allah) yet you cannot believe that he would and could manifest himself in the flesh and be called Jesus. Perfunctory in religion but limited spiritual understanding. It is sad one chooses death rather than live to believe that God would and could actually perform such a miracle to save those that are lost so that they will have life and have life more abundantly. He is your “God” whom you have so much belief yet one could say you are absent of faith in your God. God is about faith yet you cannot believe on Jesus as God manifest in the flesh.
I pray a your eyes will be opened and you will see like Elisha 2 Kings 6:17 asked for his servant to see and you will come into full knowledge and truth of Jesus Christ as God and help others.
Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. [Edited for brevity - Admin]
Walid Shoebat is one of the biggest propagandists out there, Don’t watch his biased against Islam videos.
Zakir Naik is NOT a propagandists.
I know this website about 4 years ago. It helps a lot to know the necessity of the advancing world. Many people will think we have nothing to do so we can pray for the others or we are so arrogant that we think we are right and want to prove that others are wrong. I had that same opinion, but I came to realize that it is all because of love. I did finally chose Christ because after all that happened in my life, I know I could not have loved again if it were not because of Christ. He came to me personally when I were so desperate, but luckily finally I had the courage to tell the world that I was not crazy, it is Jesus who visited me and spoke to me. Now I tell my family that they can experience what I have experienced and even more if they invite Jesus to come to their lives as friend and Savior. No other prophets I ever known that claim to be my friend and my savior. And as I experience the love, I can’t just keep it for myself, the overflowing love I have to share with the world and the real battle starts when we are on our knee. I still have so many questions or may be sometimes crisis of faith but I will keep praying.
After all, Christians or Muslims or Buddhist or even atheist, etc can publish anything they know and anything they want- I always think: there are many scientists who are atheist, but many are Christians or Muslims or religious, but who knows the needs of the hearts and lives? I think the answer is quite obvious
Imran already know the one true God and his name is Allah who has no partners or equals.
Say: He is Allah the One and Only;[1] Allah is the Self-Sufficient (independent of all,
while all are dependent on Him);[2] He begets not, nor is He begotten;[3] And there
is none comparable to Him.[4] 112:[1-4]
Guidance comes from God Almighty alone and not his mortal Prophets even if they are his mighty prophets they are still humans and mortal and have no divine power except by the permission of God.
You know what dear “30 days” “prayer” “for muslims”, Muslims are hardcore stict monotheists, they will never come to understand that God is 3, or that a man who lived 2ooo years ago is “god” in flesh, They(muslims) consider that ideology blasphomous. So until Christians abandon the quasi polyteistic believe of trinity muslims will always look at you like crazies, and to be frank so are Jews who also are pure monotheists. But on the flep side why are more and more trinitarians coming to Islam, including myself who converted 20 years ago? follow by my entire siblings and mother, exept my father who died when i was just 12yrs of age, my entire family have converted from christianity to islam. I can assure the white christian convert to islam in western world, especially since 911, and because islam seems to be on the news every other day, people and especially white people who previously know nothing about Islam, are finding out of the strong monotheistic message compare to the confusing trinity. There is a book a recommend, its called -” Trinity the self inflicted wound of Christianity” – Very interesting book, and i swear i know personally 3 people who converted to islam after reading it. So i find your website very insulting and deamening to muslims. But i will still pray for you though to open your eyes and get away from the blasphemous assemption what a human being who pee, poo, vomited, tempted by the devil was “god”. God cannot die, a human can die, Islam calls that “Jahiliyya” meaning ignorant believe. May The ONE GOD, with NO Partner(s) Nor SON enlighted You. Peace
Trinity is confusing for those who are belief that they are clever to understand than what God relieved. You apply human knowledge to understand how god is!. Can you? trinity is kind of forms of mighty God at instance of time. How come you argue with God when God revealed himself as several representation of his own existing? Are you a greater God to know than God?
That’s just a way people get out of explaining the illogical (that God can be born and then killed/deceived). That God needs to share/divide Himself into 3 parts. Just doesn’t make sense in the slightest.
@chicki , obviously you are a militant polytheist with your “jesus god”, may the ONE God helps you become a strict monotheist. amin
@ Chickie
Matthew 15:24 and Jesus answered:I am not sent BUT unto the lost sheep of the house of
Israel> the Jews<>
John:14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Isaiah 29:12 > “And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
You know, the biggest differance between Judaism,Christianity and Islam
is that the muslim obey the words of God to the T…
unfortunately the Jews and Christians dont..
All the people who believed in Jesus back then are muslim..
Muslim=one who practice Islam
meaning of Islam=total submission to God
You either believe in what God and Jesus said….or you dont
and you should not take things out of context like you did with the Quran verses..
Like it or not..Prophet Mohammad pbuh is everyone’s Prophet..jews,gentile or….
lets try again, and post what was omitted…somehow..
….the house of Israel<
you know Chickie,it seems that you do not know your Bible,as the verse above tell's you
that Jesus was sent to his own people…the Jews, and the Jews only
So you may wonder…what about the "Christians"?
Well,there was no "Christianity" at the time of Jesus,so what you have here,is a group of People who believe in Jesus,and His message ;
John:14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit…etc..etc
Is there a single verse in the bible where Jesus proclaims that he is god?
Is there a single atom of the world, human heart, or verse in the Bible that proclaims he is not?
Dude, have you read the Bible? I can show you a million verses where Jesus proclaims he is the Christ. haha.
He asked if Jesus (peace be upon him) ever claimed to be God.
“If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’3 55 But you have not known him. I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and I keep his word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad.” 57 So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?”4 58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” 59 So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.
Verse 58 is poor grammar, but good theology. Jesus didn’t say “…before Abraham was, I was”. Jesus deliberately use the phrase “I am” which the Jews rightfully knew is the ancient name of God (Yahweh). Jesus was proclaiming himself to be God, which is why the Jews tried to stone him.
I have set up a link promoting the 30-Days Prayer Network on the Adopt a Terrorist For Prayer web site.
The reason muslims are growing in numbers is because:
1) they can have unlimited number of wives
2) they can have unlimited number of children
3) they don’t sacrifice their married lives for the society by becoming priests/nuns and 4) their sharia law in Islam allows them to kill/hate/persecute all those who accept other faiths than Islam openly
5) All countries allow freedom for religions except islamic countries, giving no access to religious leaders of other faiths.
No wonder islamic countries are not peaceful, under-developed & less educated.
And how can one believe in a religion which is entirely based on one person’s dreams (Prophet Mohammad’s conversation with angel Gabriel)? Without any proof?
How can Muslims believe in virgin birth of Christ, but not his death and resurrection?
Islam is a lie! I salute the prophet Mohammad for fooling so many people..
As it is said, not everybody is going to heaven.. Its high time people realize this..
Dear Imran & Dude, I think there’s no harm in heeding Dell’s suggestion. If Allah is the Truth, he’ll reveal it to you, that Christianity is false. Thank you Dell for your apt reply. Thank you!
