About the 30-Days Ministry

30-days Logo, 200px

The history of the 30-Days of Prayer ministry reaches back to 1992. See the video:

Recently a friend asked for an Interview for his national newspaper. We decided to publish the Questions and Answers here:

How Did 30-Days Get Started?

Imagine a prayer meeting with just a handful of people. Imagine the same prayer meeting a few years later which now includes millions of people praying for the Muslim world. 30-Days of Prayer for the Muslim World is this prayer meeting!

The origin of this call to prayer and fasting for the Muslim world came about as a group of Christian leaders were praying about the Islamic world during a meeting in the Middle East in April 1992. God put a burden on the hearts of these men and women to call as many Christians as possible to pray for the Muslim world.

How Big is the Prayer Project, How Many People Or Countries Are Involved?

Today this event draws Christians worldwide to a united, global prayer meeting. The 30-Days of Prayer for the Muslim World prayer guide is now produced in more than 42 languages each Ramadan and distributed from more than 32 regional offices. Millions of Christians have joined together in prayer, across denominations, languages and cultures to pray for the Muslim world. As a result, a wave of missions mobilisation and Muslim missions awareness is occurring across the globe.

Why Ramadan?

This prayer event is planned to coincide with the Islamic month of Ramadan so that we, the Body of Christ, would get God’s heart for the Muslim world.
Ramadan is a great way to “pin” a prayer movement on something Christians can understand and relate to (literally a calendar month called Ramadan). When Christians hear in the media that Ramadan is coming, it reminds them to pray.

We have seen that Christians take the prayer more seriously as they see their Muslim neighbors fasting and active during Ramadan. Spiritually Christians can relate to Muslims better and pray and fast for the Muslim world because they are praying during Ramadan. Ramadan also gives Christians a good opportunity to make friends with Muslim neighbors.

What Is 30-Days About? What Is The Purpose Of The Project?

Our purpose is to call Christians to pray for the Muslim world, specifically:

  • for greater breakthroughs for the Gospel among Muslims,
  • an increased commitment to prayer by Christians,
  • and for more missionaries to be released to work among Muslims.

We do this by creating a 52 page Prayer Guide coinciding with Ramadan each year (first edition was 1993).

Below: Various Prayer Guide Front Covers

How Do You Create The Prayer Guide?

Each year people work together to provide new information, statistics, stories and photographs for the 30-Days Muslim World Prayer Guide. Most of those who contribute are field workers currently working in unreached regions. Each person contributes a unique insight into the needs of the Muslim people they live and work among. They are certainly not scholars who have a distant understanding of Muslims, but rather a group of people who have a passionate love for those they serve.

The 30-Days International team is then responsible to put together the text, graphics, layout etc. and that in turn is released to the national teams to translate and print and distribute how ever they can.

(PS. While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of each article, minor errors, usually spelling and grammar, often slip through even the most ardent of proof-readers. We appreciate your grace and forgiveness.)

What Is The Purpose of the Prayer Guide Itself?

The purpose of this prayer guide is not to be comprehensive, but to motivate and inspire the reader to pray. Each article of the prayer guide contains enough content to provide a brief overview and up-to-date information. We strongly encourage our readers to seek further information in addition to this prayer guide. There are many excellent resources available, some of which are listed on our Links page.

Do You Have Stories About Muslims Saved During Ramadan?

MANY! We have many many testimonies, especially from our national offices. Often we hear of Muslims having had dreams of Jesus during Ramadan right after we have prayed for that country or people group. And, we have seen completely unreached people groups who now have Christians among them. Example: Brother Andrew of Open Doors Netherlands said publicly he believes our prayer ministry has opened doors to the Gospel where he travels.

Another wonderful testimony is that many Christian people contact us saying their hearts have been changed (positively) towards Muslims. Sometimes that leads to folk going on a missions trip, others reach out to their Muslim neighbors, still others commit to prayer.

(Each year in our Prayer Guide we print some special testimonies we receive.) But yes, a huge yes, that is one reason we keep doing this, the testimonies we receive encourage us that God is using this and answering the prayers of many. (See also the Testimonies section of our web-site.)

Is A Prayer Project Like This Dangerous For The People Creating It? Any Threats?

Yes, we have had threats and of course our people in Muslim countries have to be careful. Never-the-less, over the years we hear more and more that Muslims have come to respect what we do. They may not agree, but they respect our motto, “Loving Muslims Through Prayer.” Muslims have not found anything but love and respect for them, although they don’t want prayer to be saved by Jesus. Of course if a Muslim cleric somewhere gets upset with us, then problems can occur and have.

How Can People Take Action?

Our passion is to know God and to make Him known. Our focus is on praying for the unreached Muslim people groups. Our work is creating resources for Christians to pray.

Although 30-Days International is not a sending organization (we just create prayer resources), all of us behind this work are actively involved in missions somewhere in the world. As missionaries, we encourage you to pray and give. But also consider going! There is no greater joy then to bring the Gospel to lost and to help the poor and needy as well.

Will you pray? Will you promote 30-days? Will you change the world – God’s way?

Welcome to 30-Days of Prayer. Love Muslims Through Prayer

You human worshippers will NEVER be able to defeat Islam that is on the rise!.Christianity is illogical therefore will naturally come to an end like it is in Europe and the USA where many Christians and others are turning to Islam.

It’s interesting how you’re targetting Muslim’s not Hindu’s,Buddhist’s or Sikh’s because you realise that Islamic law is the greatest threat to secularism. The reason you don’t reconvert the now former Christians of Europe to your illogical trinitarian belief system is because you can’t bribe them with medical aid or foodstuff!!!!.Like it or not Islam is coming and there is not a single thing you can do to stop it’s march of victory!!.As Allah says in his Qur’an that Christians will never be happy until you convert to their faith but “say….guidance comes from Allah alone”.

You show me ten nominal Muslims that became Christian and i’ll show you a hundred former Christian scholars of various demoninations like Yusuf Estes,Gary Miller and Jerald Dirks that embraced Islam!.Victory to Allah….victory to Islam!!.Allah u Akber!!!!

    • Dell says:

Imran, my brother, there cannot be many truths. There can only be one truth in this world. Each person from every faith and religion and denomination will say that their beliefs is the right way. But again, in reality, there can only be one way and one truth. Imran, I ask for you to pray to your God and I will pray to my God that the one Truth be revealed. The Truth could be your Muslim faith or it could be my Christian faith, but it cannot be both. It is my desire that you, yourself, will have the revelation of the Truth. I want God’s best for you and I promise you again, I will pray daily that you will be revealed the one true God.

  2. Chickie says:

You are so wrong about that. God is trying to reach you – that is why you are on this board in such an aggressive manner. If you really did not care you wouldn’t bother. Guidance comes from Jesus Christ alone. Deep down you know that.

I could show you hundreds of former scholars/imams/mullahs if you like too.

Did you know your scholars admit that 75% of converts abandon islam within 3 years? The fastest growing religion thing is propaganda to make muslims feel more secure in their beliefs.

    JESUS AKHBAR!! Peace +

    • Dude says:

God guides you not Jesus. How can Jesus guide you if he is no longer on the planet but in heaven? Jesus is the Son Of Mary and Prophet or Messenger of God he is NOT God, he can’t be God because he prayed to God and he was born. God always existed and always will so how can Jesus who at one time did not exist be God who has no beginning or no end.

God is the greatest, Jesus is a great man and messenger of God.
Jesus NEVER Preached “worship me I am God” he preached to worship God.

  3. Chickie says:

Also, Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs do not promote hate towards non-believers only muslims do that. Why is it that when people leave Christianity/Judaism etc nothing happens but when they leave islam they hate it so much that they open websites to show the true nastiness in it. The internet was a wonderful invention because finally muslims can see the truth instead of only having access to islamic broadcasts.

    • TDI says:

This is a relatively good question, although I disagree with several sentences. Nevertheless, there is a lot of hate from Muslims, and the question really demands a response. Why? Are you scared of something? What exactly makes Muslims hate to the degree they do?

      • Chickie says:

        Here is one reason:-

Quran 9.29 “Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.”

    • lol says:

no my friend, islam does not preach hatered towards people of other faitrs espeacially christians and jews who are refered to as ” the people of the book” the quran also tells us that qristians and jews are the closest to us muslims relegiously because of our abrahamic roots,

reade the following quotes from the english translation of the quran

“Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians — whoever believes in God and the Last Day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord. And there will be no fear for them, nor shall they grieve” (2:62, 5:69, and many other verses).

“…and nearest among them in love to the believers will you find those who say, ‘We are Christians,’ because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant” (5:82).

now compare that to these quotes from your ”piece loving bible” and tell me that your not fooling your selves by claiming that christanity is a peacloving relegion, it seems to me that your either too supid to understand your own language or choosing to stick with what your forefathers beleive be it accurate or unaccurate.

      Kill All Unbelievers

“And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God…” (Deuteronomy 13: 5)

“If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;” (Deuteronomy 13: 6)

“Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.” (Deuteronomy 13:8-9)

“Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that ci

      • Chickie says:

Nice taqiyya / dawa effort but if islam does not preach hate how do you explain these verses?

Quran tells Muslims to kill the disbelievers wherever they find them (Q. 2:191), to murder them and treat them harshly (Q. 9:123), slay them (Q. 9:5), fight with them, (Q. 8: 65 ) even if they are Christians and Jews, humiliate them and impose on them a penalty tax (Q. 9: 29). Quran takes away the freedom of belief from all humanity and tell clearly that no other religion except Islam is accepted (Q. 3: 85). It relegates those who disbelieve in Quran to hell (Q. 5:10), calls them najis (filthy, untouchable, impure) (Q. 9: 28). It orders its followers to fight the unbelievers until no other religion except Islam is left (Q. 2: 193). It says that the non-believers will go to hell and will drink boiling water (Q. 14: 17). Qur’an 98:6—Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islam, the Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikun will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures.

Deuteronomy is Jewish law. They were laws meant specifically for Jews (the Hebrews) and never for anyone else (Gentiles). They have over 600 laws. Why do Muslims not follow them all? Why do you never hear about Jews or Christians stoning people to death. It’s because Jews have incredibly strict rules on punishing people, tribunals that had to be held, there had to be witnesses, etc. but also because the Jews have other books and oral traditions in addition to the Tanakh, but of course Muslims know so little, you are unaware of these facts. Christians of course have Jesus who stopped such atrocities and is the Living Word of God. So our faith grows with us, new revelations revealed to us. Muslims just have that silly Quran, which is stuck in the 7th century. That explains why most Muslim countries are too.

        • Chickie says:

          Contd/..

Finally, Proverbs 6: 16-19 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

Which of these detestable sins is islam NOT guilty of?

Please stop listening to propaganda from zakir naik and read a Bible for yourself. I would like you to watch this series of videos by Walid Shoebat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lW-5VrK3CVI

  5. Daahiye macoow says:

Very good, but who’s prayer is accepted by GOD? if you do adultry dont pray! if you have sex with girlfreind out of mariage you dont have to! if you eat swine and intrest or bribe dont wory about it! If you use drugs or drink alcohol forget about it! if you do gambling or like to gosip, backbiting or cheat somebody or tel leis dont waste your time! if you go to the satan house (night clabs) and dance with music, and the next day go to the house of GOD! (?!?!?!) and pray with music think again! The only prayer accepted by the ALMIGHTY GOD is the prayer of the prophets of GOD. Mathew 26:39 jesus fell his face to the ground! Jashua 5:14 jashua fell his face to the ground! Numbers 20:6 moses and Aaron fell their faces to the ground! 1kings 18:42 elijah fell his face to the ground! Genesis 17:3 Abraham fell his face to the ground… Some people dont know the deference bitween to pray and to suplicate!

  6. Dude says:

In addition, staff from many of our mission affiliates host short-term outreach teams made up of individuals, youth groups, families and churches who get to participate first-hand in “making God known” through both words and actions.
Why do you think you need to go to Muslims to do this? Muslims already know about God. They don’t say God is not great, they say God is the Greatest.
