Muhammad (peace be upon him) never attacked anyone. It was only after the tyrannical attitude of the pagan followers that led to the first war. If he wanted to forgive them, he would have done easily. Even after facing huge opposition like people throwing garbage on him, non muslims throwing stones & many more, he remained adament. Because he knew the TRUTH. The war was inevitable to take place as it reassured everyone of the existence of one GOD.
