Changes in 2008:
1) NEW Days of Preparation:
We are including a time of preparation in advance of the "30-Days."
This is because Ramadan begins 1 September when many of
you are
still
on holidays! With days of preparation, you / your church can
start early. Congregations can be alerted and praying up to 6
weeks in advance!
2) NEW Different arrangement:
The '08 articles are geographically mixed. That means we are
not
praying for Africa, Americas, Asia, etc in page sequence. (Tip:
Click the graphic below to see for yourself.)
3) NEW National / Regional pages:
National editions have an option to include their own
country page on the 1st Sunday of Ramadan (Day 7 - 7th Sept.).
4) NEW Reduced texts:
Most articles have about 20% less text than previous issues. This was
done in order to give some breathing space to you "pray-ers" + give
translators room
for larger fonts. This has been requested by many.
5) NEW
Pronunciation guide: (If possible) We have suggested all
languages
add a guide for hard to pronounce cities / people groups for
you.
6) NEW
Sidebar texts: These texts are on various subjects:
Islam, more information about the main article, cultural understanding,
etc. The goal of these texts is to stimulate and inform you in an easy
to read / remember fashion.

We made
a great effort in the 2008 prayer booklet to underline Muslim
humanity and God's love for people. You will see this through
the
texts, pictures and layout.
8) Text about proclaiming Christ: We have included a two page article called "Helping Muslims discover Jesus" at the end of the booklet. This article is especially designed to help you effectively communicate the Good News.

during the coming weeks: work on the Children's edition

is continuing. It is critical that we be able to work with good
attitudes with creativity in order to produce
another excellent product.
Work
is being done on the following:
- a budget to help the International Coordination Office and struggling coordinators,
- a schedule for the 2009 and 2010 prayer events.

30-Days International produces the well-known "30-Days of Prayer for the Muslim World" Christian prayer guide coinciding with Ramadan each year.
The origin of this international prayer network came about as a group of Christian leaders were praying during a meeting in the Middle East in April 1992. God put a burden on the hearts of these men and women to call as many Christians as possible to pray for the Muslim world.
